The Law Of Incremental Change

The entitlement of this post essentially reflects the slippery slope of cultural decision making. For instance, Roe vs. Wade opened a narrow window through which abortion became permissible. Very different from the abortion on demand society of today.

This principle is beautifully elucidated by David Kupelian, the Editor of WorldNetDaily, in his recently published book entitled "The Marketing of Evil". The book essentially flushes out the moral & spiritual decline of Western civilization and how this denigration has occurred within a generation. Kupelian maps the psychological warfare that is characteristic of modern marketing, in shaping the thinking and world-view of significant segment of our population. Below, I've linked to a recent speech he gave further delineating this:

HOW "MARKETING of EVIL" Really WORKS -by David Kupelian. (Dec 14, 2005)

There's an eye opener, huh?

That's nice....

Sarcasm intended in the title. Stubbornly supporting the notion that Islam is a religion of peace is to essentially ignore the incontrovertible evidence otherwise. When examining the totality of Islamic states in this world, what do we find? Essentially, the antithesis of equality, liberty and tolerance for others.

And after Islam declared jihad against America and the rest of western civilization, we have this? That's hubris. Returning to the city where the opening salvo is fired and touting this crazy rhetoric? People ought to be incredulous.

Perhaps our memories aren't long enough.

Tired Yet?

Where I live in the Twin Cities, gas is nearing three dollars a gallon. In some suburbs, it's already there and on the coasts, prices can be anywhere from $3.50-$3.75 a gallon. Ouch!

So what's the solution? The president is touting alternative energy and that has to be the long-term focus, but what about today? The answer is ANWR. The very presence of a congressional commitment to explore will bring the prices down, because the market is driven by two main factors--psychology and earnings. The market reacts positively when it perceives good news. For instance, the market doesn't care about the politics of presidential candidates as much as it prefers incumbency. The reason, he's a known commidity and the market likes predictable patterns.

Exploration in ANWR demonstrates a significant commitment to reducing foreign dependence on oil and regardless of what we are actually capable of doing with the oil, should we find it, the mere presence of a drill in Alaska will make the world's oil markets react in a manner we can all find more palatable at the pump.

So instead of complaining the next time you fill up your car or SUV, call your senator and congressman and tell them to actually do something for a change.

Oh Well....

I had nearly two hours into a post for Good Friday, that was irretrievably lost when my computer completely seized for the first time since I've owned it. That stinks, as I was right at the end. Well as Sinatra says, "That's life."

This is an absolute must read regarding Iran and the chess game we're engaged in with them.
Also, see what's in store for Europe.

Political Science

Any high school freshman will tell you that that science is based on observation, measurement and replication. This is the nature, pardon me, requirement of professional inquiry. And yet the global warming faithful persist with the ardent fervor of religious fundamentalists.

The fact that our climate has changed is a tacit observation. I live in Minnesota and haven't seen a real winter for some time. Is this the result of carbon dioxide and greenhouse gases or simply a repeating climatological pattern change?

Today, we learn that our global climate has not changed since 1998, indicating the liklihood that the latter position is indeed correct. Furthmore, this confirms the hysteria of the left (the notion that global warming is a greater threat to the world than islamo-facism, as explicated by Al Gore and others) regarding global warming is grounded more in political ideology than scientific fact. Also implicated in today's report, are methodolgical errors with how previous fear-mongering metrics have been calculated.

It should be interesting to see how this plays out in the press.
